Hailstone Campgrounds

Hailstone, off US-40, holds most of the park's camping. Its 103 RV sites have partial hookups (30-amp power and water), and every site has a fire pit with a barbecue grill and a picnic table. The restrooms have hot showers and flush toilets. The RV loops are:

A dump station is on the west side of the campground. Utah State Parks notes that the sites sell out fast, so plan ahead (Hailstone).

McHenry Tent Campground

McHenry is four loops built just for tents, with showers and a water spigot in each loop. RVs and trailers are not allowed in any McHenry loop. The park allows only small teardrop and cab-over campers there, and other rigs are asked to leave. Tents go on the tent pads or on the asphalt.

Rock Cliff Campground

Rock Cliff, near Kamas at the east end of the reservoir, adds 45 sites with fire pits, grills and picnic tables (Rock Cliff):

Utah State Parks' brochure describes Rock Cliff's walk-in sites as tent-only spots reached by a short boardwalk through the aspens, each sized for one four-person tent, with modern restrooms and hot showers. The Rock Cliff campground gate closes at 10 p.m.; your ReserveAmerica confirmation has the entry code.

Winter

All camping closes from November through March. Utah State Parks ended winter dry camping after repeated problems, so the only overnight option in winter is a cottage (Cabins & Cottages).
